US-born Valor Hospitality Partners is gearing up for significant expansion in the Middle East
By Hotelier Middle East
Having become a global force in third-party hotel management in the Americas, UK and Africa, Valor Hospitality Partners is set to do the same in the Middle East. Thanks to a joint venture with the Investment Corporation of Dubai, the Government of Dubai’s investment arm, Valor is readying for immense expansion in the region, already marked by its management of some of the city’s most respected properties.
In September of last year, Valor joined forces with the Corporation’s ICD Hospitality and Leisure business, most notably putting the Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek under its management. With more than 85 hotels already in its portfolio, Valor is adding the same expertise in site selection, brand selection, conceptual design, project management, procurement, technical services and property management to the Middle East.
“The past year has been an interesting time for the hospitality industry,” said Julien Bergue, co-founder and managing partner Middle East and CIS at Valor. “It has pushed leaders and asset owners to reassess how they have been running their business for the last 20 years, adjusting themselves and working with teams to navigate in this new world of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity whilst keeping our eyes on their goals.”
The pandemic in 2020 delayed deployment and action as the hospitality industry dealt with the ever-changing landscape. However, Bergue saw this as an opportunity and expanded the Dubai office to enable them to better support hotel owners emerging from the shadows of the pandemic. The Valor proposition is to provide suitable, economical solutions with a reliable structure in place for hotel owners and brands.
Valor Hospitality Partners’ Middle East growth
Within the short span of the next two years, Valor will be operating up to 25 sub-brands of major global hotel operators in the Middle East and CIS. Valor has now established trust and preferred status with many owners, real estate developers, family offices, semi-government institutions and global hotel companies.
Further expansion in the joint venture with ICD and the development pipeline, there will be several announcements in 2023 and educating the market on how the business model can work for asset owners is an exciting prospect. Introducing regional hotel owners to a globally experienced, reliable franchise operator will be something new. Some might think it just added competition to global hotel brands; however, the model means that Valor works hand in hand with global hotel brands and help realise growth plans for owners and brands.
