Jim has over 35 years of professional development and management experience in the hotel and lodging industry. Jim is proficient at establishing and implementing management, organizational, and operational policies and procedures aimed at cost efficiency and superior quality product. Jim has a strong background in development and asset management with detailed experience in the planning, execution, and opening of new hotels, as well as new acquisitions, property convers ions, and disposition of assets. Some of Jim’s expertise lies in his knowledge of financial reporting, financial planning and compliance, owner reporting, strategic financial planning, labor and cost controls, and accounting procedures design and implementation. Experience with brand revenue management, e-commerce and social media management has enabled Jim to maximize the exposure and viability of utilization in a tech-savvy hotel environment.

Under the leadership of Jim, many properties have received awards including the IHG Newcomer Award at two locations; the IHG Torchbearer Award for 9 consecutive years at two properties; the New Hotel of the Year Award from Hilton; the Pinnacle Award; the Hilt on Lighthouse Award; the Hilton Wall of Fame Award for 7 consecutive years; the Hilton Circle of Excellence Award for 3 consecutive years; over ten back-to-back Outstanding Hilton brand inspections; the IHG Food and Beverage Director of the Year Award; the corporate Spirit of Giving Award; and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's Joy of Giving Award.

Some of Mr. O'Brien's previous experience includes an extensive background in chain-affiliated hotels as well as independently owned facilities such as the Peabody Hotel in Memphis; the Bahia Mar Hotel and Yachting Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and the Boca Raton Hotel and Club in Boca Raton, Florida. He also spearheaded and directed the building and operations of two military housing facilities; one in Fort Drum, New York and the other at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Jim is a past member of the Southern Regional Committee, the Holiday Inn Express Committee, and the Holiday Inn Committee for the International Association of Holiday Inns.
