Management company Valor Hospitality Europe is in the running for a top industry award.
Valor is one of three shortlisted for Best Employer Award in The Cateys, which celebrate achievements of the best people, places and businesses in the hospitality industry. In addition, the business has been ranked as one of the top three in The Caterer’s Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2016.
The company, which manages a UK portfolio of 20 hotels under franchise from Hilton, IHG and Marriott, has had a busy 18 months of rapid growth. Part of its drive to improve employee engagement has included introducing a new digital communications hub.
Talent Toolbox gives staff a one-stop-shop for intranet, news, communications, engagement surveys and performance reviews. Since launching Talent Toolbox in 2015, Valor has seen a rise in employee engagement of five percent and a 100 percent boost in internal promotions.
Brian McCarthy, managing director of Valor Hospitality Europe said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted as a top employer and recognised as one of the top three places to work in hospitality in 2016. We pride ourselves in employee engagement and making sure our teams have the best possible environment to work in. When team members are proud of where they work, it results in the highest levels of customer service which is ultimately what we want to deliver to our hotel guests.”
Valor Hospitality Europe this week also launched a video showcasing its story in the UK to date and ambitious growth plans to manage 50 hotels in five years’ time. Part of the plans include speaking to other investment organisations to develop its portfolio further.
Since inception in 1984, The Cateys, likened to the Oscars of the hospitality sector, have cast a spotlight on the industry’s highest flyers, strongest performers and hottest brands. The ceremony takes place at Grosvenor House in London on July 5th.
