International recognition for Valor Hospitality Europe

Management company Valor Hospitality Europe is celebrating after securing a number of high-profile awards this month.

Valor, which operates an 18-strong hotel portfolio in the UK, was given international recognition for its commitment to people development, whilst two of its portfolio hotels also scooped top accolades.

Hotel Indigo in Liverpool was recognised in the ‘Refurbishment’ category of the IHG annual Star Awards for an extensive ground floor makeover to its restaurant, bar and lounge areas. Working with the acclaimed interior designer Gavin Liddle of Greyline Design, Gavin’s sleek and contemporary design reflected Liverpool’s rich music and industrial heritage as well as cultural hot-spots from around the city.

Managing director of Valor Hospitality Europe, Brian McCarthy, said: “Gavin’s design really brought to life our vision for the Hotel Indigo in Liverpool. The refurbishment is a fantastic example of how a small, niche designer can completely transform a hotel in a branded corporate environment.

“At Valor, our focus is on people and seeking the best talent to do the job – in this case Gavin’s design really stood out to us and he took the vision for the hotel to a whole new level.”

At the European Marriott awards, AC Hotel Birmingham was awarded for ‘brand excellence’ in the ‘select service’ category across both Marriott and Starwood brands. The hotel was recognised for embracing the brand vision. AC Hotel Birmingham was one of the first two AC Hotels by Marriott® which launched in the UK last year.

The IHG Star Awards also crowned Valor with the ‘Developing People Award’ for its commitment to ‘people culture, inspiring leadership and consistent business results driven through people engagement.’

Brian added: “These awards recognise not only our commitment to people development and offering guests the best possible experience, but also showcase the continued investment into our portfolio hotels. With a strong people ethos in mind, we look forward to building on this success“

Two-year-old Valor has ambitious growth plans and is currently working exclusively with one owner but is looking to build its portfolio and is actively seeking out other investment partners to work with.
