After picking up a number of high-profile accolades earlier this year, Valor Hospitality Europe has continued its awards success, this time at the Leeds Hotels & Venues Association (LVHA) 2017 awards.
Five staff members from the DoubleTree by Hilton Leeds were recognised at the awards, which celebrate the very best of the city’s hospitality service.
Sarah Hawkins, director of sales at DoubleTree by Hilton Leeds, was entered into the LVHA Hall of Fame after winning the People’s Choice Award, which was sponsored by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Sarah was instrumental in the successful launch of the refurbished Sky Lounge at the Leeds hotel. Senior staff at the hotel said Sarah had helped turn the bar into a city landmark.
She was nominated for her love of Leeds, her passion for hospitality and her excellent ability to form ‘fantastic relationships’, coming out on top in the Yorkshire Evening Post reader vote.
Other DoubleTree by Hilton Leeds staff recognised at the LVHA awards for their contribution were Karolina Spedding, who came 2nd in the Mentor of the Year category, John Ritchie, who picked up third place for the Customer Service – Front of House award, Davina Martinez who came 2nd in the rising star category and Alex Verity, who was named Apprentice of the Year.
Valor picked up the Developing People accolade and Refurbishment of the Year for the work at the Hotel Indigo Liverpool at the IHG Star Awards earlier this year and also picked up the Scottish Hotel Awards.
